PwC, the accounting and consulting giant, will allow all its 40,000 US-based service employees to work from anywhere. This makes PwC one of the biggest employers to embrace permanent remote work!
This policy breaks from the rigid attitudes in the accounting industry, which is known for heavy workloads and encouraging people to stay at their desks late at night.

Other major accounting firms, such as Deloitte and KPMG, have also been giving employees more choice to work remotely in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, PwC employees are paid according to their location. Employees who opt to work virtually full-time from a lower-cost location would see their pay decrease.
As companies are battling the war for talent to attract and retain key personnel, the remote work decision made by PwC will turn out to be a highly effective recruiting, hiring and retention program.
With PwC announcing remote work option, do you think the other 3 accounting giants will have to reconsider their work strategy?
