The Remote Weekly goes out every Wednesday and brings to you original content, product tips and latest stories around remote working.
Let Al's story be the antidote for CTRL Labs' acquisition 😀
Are you a believer in the future of remote working involving distributed teams interacting in a VR world? Facebook's recent ~$1 billion acquisition of CTRL Labs will surely be of interest to you. With Building 8 failing, this is Facebook's bet to get it right this time. The fact that its wrist band is capable of reading brain signals does little to calm nerves though. Ahh, Facebook, not again!
Getting our Remote Working Chronicles to a perfect start, Al shares his experiences of transitioning from Google to a remote working role. A "data-lover", he stumbled into remote work but has since also fallen in love with working remotely. He surely would like to catch more casual coffees with his co-workers, though. Do read his story - it is fun, real, and, importantly, very helpful!
Are you a remote worker too? Just reply to this mail, so that we can work on sharing your experience with the community .
Finally, we had a blast talking to Darren Murph from Gitlab. Do you want to know more? Watch out for this space next week!
